  • Class 3/15/29/42 - Be Colourful (Monday-Thursday)

    Class 3/15/29/42 - Be Colourful (Monday-Thursday)

    Instructor: Jacqueline DeJonge
    Skill Level: Confident Beginner-Advanced
    LC: North 2A
    8:30 am 4:00 pm (6-hour class)

BeColourful patterns are a challenge. We all know that they are made for the intermediate and advanced quilters. So here is the opportunity to take a class and try something different, something you maybe dreamed of but you thought you never could do.

I will show- and you will learn all kinds of techniques that will work for you and I'm confident that I can add something to the knowledge you already have.

This year we selected 4 different patterns and of course Happiness 2.0.

    1) You can start with the Four Seasons table runner project, a smaller project, but of course with the spikes and the curves you can expect from a BeColourful quilt.

    2) But you also can start with the colorful Fantasia when stars and circles don't intimidate you.

    3) And what about the gorgeous Beautiful Day! Every year I make another flower quilt and this year is a quilt that brings you a beautiful bouquet of 28 flowers.

    4) And if all these flowers do not attempt to make her, you maybe will fall in love with Evendale. Maybe this quilt has the most challenges of this year's collection. But you will absolutely love this quilt when she is finished..

Happiness 2.0 is a small wall hanging of 38” x 38” and features all of the BeColourful paper piecing techniques. We have combined 13 different techniques in this quilt: Paper piecing, the star, spikes, inset circles, freezer paper techniques, second seam allowance, how to get a perfect corner, sashing, flying geese, nesting seams, how to pin baste, how to ease fabrics and how to use fabrics sparingly. The Happiness quilt is a great project to try out all these techniques. When you've finished this beautiful small wall hanging you will be able to make any of Jacqueline's designs.

Let’s face it making a quilt block that comes out to the expected size is difficult!
